TUDOR Goes Further with the UTMB World Series

davind

Overview

TUDOR becomes the official Daring Partner of the UTMB World Series, bringing its daring spirit to one of trail running’s ultimate tests of endurance.

There are races where the clock is the opponent. And then there are races where time becomes part of the journey itself.

For the athletes competing in the UTMB World Series, time is measured not simply in hours, minutes and seconds, but in years of preparation, thousands of metres of elevation, nights spent running through the mountains and the determination required to keep moving when the body is telling you to stop. It is this distinctive relationship with time that makes TUDOR’s latest sporting partnership feel particularly fitting.

Following the introduction of its four trail-running ambassadors, Courtney Dauwalter, Miao Yao, Rémi Bonnet and Baptiste Chassagne, TUDOR has now become the official Daring Partner of the UTMB World Series. At the centre of the series is the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc, a 106-mile race around the Mont Blanc massif and one of the most demanding events in elite trail running.

It is a natural progression for a brand whose identity has long been associated with those willing to venture beyond the familiar.

A Different Way to Measure Time

Trail running presents a fascinating contradiction for a watchmaker. The athletes themselves are not necessarily relying on mechanical watches while navigating mountains, elevation changes, unpredictable temperatures and sleep deprivation. Yet that is precisely what makes TUDOR’s involvement more interesting.

To put simply, the connection is not about using a watch simply to measure a race but what it represents when the race is over.

Every major achievement has a moment when preparation becomes reality: the finish line, the result, the record, the memory of having made it through. For an athlete who has spent months or years preparing for an event such as UTMB, the watch becomes something more enduring than a timekeeping instrument: a marker of the journey that led there.

That idea sits naturally within TUDOR's philosophy. Its watches have traditionally been created for people who do rather than simply observe, from the world of diving and exploration to motorsport, cycling and now the increasingly demanding world of ultra-trail running.

Where Daring Meets Endurance

The partnership also extends the meaning of TUDOR's Born to Dare spirit.

Sometimes, daring means choosing the harder route. This decision is literal in trail running. The athletes leave the road behind and head into terrain where steep climbs, technical descents, changing weather and exhaustion are all part of the challenge.

Simply reaching the start line of HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc represents an achievement in itself. Places at the highest level are earned, and competitors have already demonstrated that they belong among the world's elite. This mindset mirrors TUDOR's approach to watchmaking: robustness, reliability and a willingness to build watches for real-world use rather than simply for display.

The Ranger Finds Its Terrain

It is fitting that the TUDOR Ranger accompanies this new chapter.

The Ranger has the visual language of an expedition watch: purposeful, highly legible and uncomplicated. Its appeal lies in its straightforward functionality, making it an appropriate expression of the relationship between TUDOR and trail running.

But perhaps the most compelling aspect of the Ranger in this context is what it symbolises. It is not presented as a piece of equipment that will get an athlete to the finish line. Instead, it becomes a lasting reminder of what was required to get there. In a sport built around pushing personal limits, the greatest achievement is not simply completing a distance.

The Journey Is the Achievement

TUDOR's partnership with the UTMB World Series therefore feels less like a conventional sporting sponsorship and more like a meeting of two philosophies. Both understand that meaningful achievements are rarely created in a single moment. They are built over time.

For the world's best trail runners, the finish line is the culmination of countless hours that nobody sees. For TUDOR, a mechanical watch carries that same idea of continuity, something made to accompany its owner, to withstand the years and ultimately to become part of their story.

The race may be measured in hours. The achievement lasts much longer.

And when the world's toughest trails become a stage for those who are Born to Dare, TUDOR has found a sporting world where that philosophy feels entirely at home. At the UTMB World Series, the next challenge is already waiting. TUDOR will be there to mark every finish, and the journey that made it possible.
